Standing the Test of Time

This book is a collection of photographs that records various buildings and structures which were erected prior to the Second World War. The collection includes civic buildings, hotels, commercial buildings, churches and historic properties. A few residential buildings are also included. Some of the buildings have had renovations, additions and alterations but are for all intents and purposes are basically as they were built.

In most cases, an early photograph has been used and a more recent photo added to show the changes, if any, which have occurred over the past 75 years or so. A brief history has been included on each structure.

St Heliers Convict Register

This volume covers the 1830 and 1840 records of the convicts who arrived at St Heliers Station. When a new convict arrived his particulars were entered into this register. The particulars cover ship, sentence, date of arrival, native place, trade, year of birth, height, complexion, eyes and general remarks. The general remarks cover information not available elsewhere. Also included are details on hired servants. These details are not available elsewhere.
The book has the potential to provide so much new information about the convicts assigned to St Heliers, the attitude toward the convicts and how they responded.

Three Cemeteries of the Upper Hunter

This book and accompanying DVD builds on earlier projects to record gravesites of the Upper Hunter. It records the transcription on each headstone for Giant’s Creek Cemetery, Mount Dangar Cemetery and Wybong Cemetery. In the back of the book is a DVD with photos of each grave and another of each headstone.

There is also information recorded on possible unmarked graves in each cemetery.

New book – The Way It Was – Shopping in Muswellbrook

This recently published book arose as a result of a number of group meetings in which people brought along articles which they had purchased in the past in Muswellbrook. The articles caused much discussion and reminiscence about the early days. Glenda Murray who led the gatherings put together this book which has proved very popular.

In the future it is hoped that there will be further gatherings and the production of a follow up book. The present book contains 46 pages in colour. Cost $15
